The Advisory Committee of BCNAR provides input and direction for the activities of the Network. It is constituted of individuals appointed by the Executive Committee of BCNAR. The Committee will include no more than 11 members, one each representing the following:

  • health authorities of the Province (voting)
  • provincial government (voting)
  • non-governmental organization/community sector (voting)
  • private sector (voting)
  • seniors' organization (voting)
  • The Network Coordinator of BCNAR (non-voting)
  • A representative of the Executive Committee (non-voting)

The Chair of the Advisory Committee will be elected by the voting members of the Committee. The responsibilities of the Chair include, but are not limited to:

  • chairing all meetings of the Advisory Committee
  • ensuring that the responsibilities of the Committee are carried out

The term of appointment for voting members is 2 years, with the possibility of reappointment for no more than two consecutive terms, (except for original Committee members whose terms will be staggered to ensure continuity in later years).

The responsibilities of the Committee include, but are not limited to:

  • advising the Executive Committee of BCNAR on all matters related to the objectives, policies, and procedures of the Network
  • serving on specific BCNAR committees or participating in specific BCNAR projects at the request of the Executive Committee

Meetings: The Advisory Committee shall meet as a whole at least once a year and at the call of the Chair.
