Marla steinberg has worked in the field of evaluation for 20 years.  she began her career as an independent evaluator working on policy and program evaluations in health and criminal justice.  

For 10 years she worked for health Canada and the Public health Agency of Canada as the lead evaluator for a community-based health promotion early childhood development program. 

She currently works as the senior Director of Analysis and Evaluation with the Michael smith Foundation for Health research where she is responsible for developing and implementing an organizational evaluation system and framework for evaluating the return on investment for health research funding.
